Alex is Managing Partner, Early Stage Funds at global technology investor Amadeus Capital Partners, where his current investment focus areas include AI, machine learning, autonomous vehicles, cloud computing, cyber security, digital healthcare and medical technology. He co-founded Europe’s first cyber security accelerator Cyber London, and he was recently a member of the Steering Group for the Royal Society Cyber Security Research Report.
In 1996 Alex co-founded nCipher to develop internet security products using advanced cryptography. As nCipher’s CEO, he subsequently led the company to a listing on the London Stock Exchange in 2000. nCipher plc was sold to Thales SA in 2008.
Alex lives in Cambridge (UK) and is married with three children. He was appointed Entrepreneur in Residence at the Judge Business School, University of Cambridge in 2005. He is an active supporter of ActionAid, Kettle’s Yard and the Prince’s Trust.
