Q&A with Rosie
Q: If you could choose anyone famous (real or fictional) to have dinner with who would they be and why?
Nerdy answer but probably WD Hamilton, who was a brilliant theoretical evolutionary biologist (‘The Selfish Gene’ by Richard Dawkins popularised his ideas). He was also an interesting character by all accounts; his obituary reads ‘he lived for ideas, was especially partial to unpopular ideas, and thought little of his own safety’.
Q: As a child, what did you want to be when you grew up?
A microbiologist! I read one of those ‘Horrible Science’ books, and got really obsessed with the idea that there’s this whole world that’s too small for us to see….
Q: If a movie was made of your life what genre would it be, who would play you?
A comedy melodrama starring Maggie Gyllenhaal.
