Bio
Having worked in healthcare, investment banking, and higher education, Jonathan now finds himself working in the philanthropic world as the Finance Manager at Founders Pledge (an opportunity he very much enjoys). He lives in excel and has helped to manage budgets, forecasts, and even the most unwieldy of finance models throughout his career. A lifelong learner, Jonathan holds an MBA from Cornell University.
As an avid hockey player (the kind played on ice, not the pitch), Jonathan has been fortunate to travel the US playing competitively all the way through college since he first discovered the sport as a child.
Q&A with Jonathan
Q: If you could choose anyone famous (real or fictional) to have dinner with who would they be and why?
Howard Schultz, former ceo of Starbucks - he has managed to create a business that successfully balances people, priorities, and profits.
I once had the chance to shake his hand at a shareholder meeting, but was so starstruck, that I was too busy fumbling with my iPhone to take a picture, that I completed missed the opportunity (lesson learned - be in the moment, not the picture).
Q: As a child, what did you want to be when you grew up?
I wanted to be Indiana Jones. I enjoy traveling to new places, exploring new cultures, and discovering different ways of approaching life's little challenges.
Q: If a movie was made of your life what genre would it be, who would play you?
A comedy - I try to maintain a sense of humor whenever possible and tend to be pretty lighthearted.
Jim Carrey would be first on my list, as he can effectively jump from silly humor to seriousness depending on the situation.
